Acupuncture

Acupuncture accelerates and supports your body's  natural healing functions.   Acupuncture treats the root cause of imbalance in the body.  Patients seeking help for a specific complaint will experience benefits in other areas of their health along with improvements in the root cause of imbalance.

Acupuncture is a characteristic component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, stimulating specific Acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of “Qi”  through channels known as meridians.

Qi is simply the life force of the person. If you experience a disturbing symptom such as a headache, insomnia or indigestion, it simply means that your Qi, is not moving harmoniously.

Our practitioners customize your treatment depending on your chief complaint. They insert thin, sterile, disposable needles into specific points of the body. Most patients report a little pressure or  tingling during insertion.  The body either sends Qi to that insertion point or releases accumulated Qi. Our goal is to establish smooth Qi flow throughout the body to begin balancing and  healing.  Over time, the Qi is able to flow freely on its own, and all aspects of your health will improve.

The United States National Institutes of Health, the National Health Service of the United Kingdom, the World Health Organization and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine have all endorsed acupuncture as an effective treatment for a wide variety of conditions. There is general agreement that acupuncture is safe when administered by qualified practitioners using sterile needles.
